An interesting part of the documentary was when they spoke about trying to change the way students learn in a motivating way. In order to do so, teachers refer to media related aspects to make learning fun. This can include videos, songs, and fun ways to learn the content. The problem here is, we are not changing the content, we are only changing the way to learn the content. If the content does not excite the students from the beginning, it will not change based on how they are learning it.

This weeks reading stood out to me because it highlighted the fact that there is not a "recipe" to follow to achieve results. More specifically, a passage from the reading that I appreciated the most was when the author makes reference to the steps involved in baking a cake. More specifically, there is a high chance of someone who never baked before to succeed because the recipe was tested and it is known to work if followed the instructions properly. However, the author does a unique twist by relating this procedure to teaching young children. For example, by linking this example to a parent asking for advice on how to raise their child, it was clear that this procedure does not work in this case because all children are different and all react differently.
